Resize partition in Vista

It is quite a while I have not posted about Linux. The reason is I have bought in new notebook three months ago with Vista and did not have a program to resize the partition…

Do I need a program?
NO, I do not !!!

Vista has disk management that can resize my online partition.

Run: compmgmt.msc /s
Or go to control panel.

And shrink/extend your volumes!

  1. Hi Laurent:
I did same job resizing Vista partition but using directly a hard disk utility which came with Mandriva 2008.1 Linux distro.
    Best regards, Marcelo.

  2. It didn’t take me long to realize that Vista’s built in partitioning option has it’s limitations. I’ve found that GParted, which is essentially like a FREE version of Partition Magic, is very robust at resizing and moving Windows partitions.

  3. This simple thing…they should have added years ago…dont know what they have been thinking ?

May be…Partition Magic sales going up ;)
