it is the opposite actually, in 1986, canada got eliminated with putting one goal. We got eliminated without getting one goal…

Oh I understand. Switzerland was eliminated despite not allowing a single goal.
I wonder if any team has ever done the complete opposite: advanced while failing to score a single goal?

I do not think. In Mexico, Italy did not win a single match in his group and won the cup at the end, but winning without a single goal? not yet…
